  1. Not really a tutorial... This doesn't even show you any of the layer effects, techniques, etc. All it is is you showing an image of each step in your process with no background information.

    1. That's one thing I was wondering about these. I haven't been doing them very long so I don't know if these are as helpful as they can be. What kinds of things do you think would be important to show/write?

The only effects I really use are gradients, and all of these are on one layer.

  2. The steps and the way the tutorial is, are very helpful especially for those like me who are still bad with proportions and at making the base shapes. These make a good base to work on and get some practice, experience. Thanks for the tutorials i hope you keep making them, maybe we can get a tutorial for creating some basic characters or faces ? :D.

    1. Sure, I can do some faces next. Will keep it halloween related for now though, so zombie, vampire etc faces.

  3. Hi Izzy, I just found this blog, and this is great. I love to see how an artist works on his art. I hope you can post tutorial of how to apply color harmony in game character backgrounds. Keep up the good work. :)

    Thanks.

    1. Sure thing, I like seeing other artist processes as well.

Do you mean how to make a background in general or more specifically how to have elements in the game stand out? Was definitely planning on making some backgrounds in the future. Balancing colors in games can be tricky so that might be a good thing to focus on for the next tutorial.

    2. Thanks for the reply. :)

Yes, that is what I mean. Like, how to choose color palette for a character, and then creating background & objects that match main character's color palette.
